2024 Scholarships & Bursaries

July 6th, 2024|News and Events|

Each year, the Perth and District Community Foundation administers over $14,000 in scholarships and bursaries. These awards have been established by generous donors to the Foundation. This year we would like to highlight one bursary in particular:

Michaela Lecky, Jayden Dowdall Memorial Bursary

Jayden Dowdall Memorial Bursary
Jayden Dowdall, a former St. John High School student and well-loved classmate and friend, died suddenly and tragically in a car accident on December 7, 2023. He was 18. In his memory, Jayden’s family set up a memorial bursary in his name with the PDCF.

This bursary honours the qualities and characteristics that Jayden embodied in his life and years as a student at St. John Catholic High School:

  • kindness and thoughtfulness in all he did and with everyone he encountered,
  • a love of learning and natural inquisitiveness,
  • a dedication and commitment to hard work and the mastering of skills,
  • and a relentless and unwavering commitment to helping others.

Congratulations to Michaela Lecky, the inaugural recipient. If you are interested in establishing a new award, please contact us.

Congratulations to all the students who graduated this spring!
