PDCF – WHERE YOUR GIFT KEEPS GIVING

Cultivating an enduring legacy that will grow over time and will continue to strengthen the quality of life in our community

We are a charitable public foundation dedicated to strengthening the quality of life in Perth, Drummond/North Elmsley, Lanark Highlands, and Tay Valley so that everyone belongs and thrives, today and into the future.

We address community needs and opportunities through grants to registered charities.

  • Since 2003, we have awarded over $2.8 million in grants benefitting children, youth, seniors, and families.
  • In the 2023-2024 fiscal year, PDCF grants to local charities totaled just over $500,000

We connect the generosity of donors with the energy and ideas of people and community organizations to support local projects that have a meaningful and lasting impact.

We acknowledge that Lanark County is situated on the ancestral and unceded traditional land of the Omàmìwininì, also known as the Algonquin Anishinaabe Nation. With this acknowledgment comes respect for the land and the people who have been living here since time immemorial. As part of this land acknowledgment, we recognize the injustices of the past and those that continue today. We recognize our responsibility to contribute to reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples of the land we call Canada.

To this end, we are learning about the impact of colonization on the Indigenous peoples of Canada, we have established an annual Indigenous Youth Award, through our partnership with Indspire, a national Indigenous charity, and we will communicate the results of our actions to the community.

In our 2023 Lanark County Vital Signs Report, the need for safe, affordable and attainable housing was cited as the most urgent priority for the community. The Linden Housing Co-op is one group that has since formed to help meet that need, via the development of non-profit cooperative housing in the Town of Perth.

PDCF has supported Linden since the beginning with grants such as the one highlighted above, and via letters of support to the Centre of Community Transformation, the @taggartparkesfoundation, and @cmhc_schl, which have resulted in further financial support for the group's development project.

Today, we want to congratulate Linden for their latest success: funding from CMHC's Co-operative Housing Development Program: "In the Town of Perth, Ontario, Linden Housing Co-operative will receive $12.3 million to create 38 units, including 36 newly constructed homes and 2 units within an existing house. This project will include 8 accessible units and will target 8 units for individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness, providing housing to those most in need." 🎉🎉🎉

The inaugural "All You Need is Love" dance was a hit! We raised over $12,000 for our Community Granting Fund thanks to you, our generous supporters 🥰

A big thank you also goes out to the many local businesses that contributed to the evening via sponsorships, prizes, and in-kind donations.

And not least, thank you to all the volunteers, but most notably the organizing committee: Jordan Kennie, Ann Hawthorne, Ann Daly, Alyson Colon, Lana From.

As one attendee wrote in: "All the volunteers at the door, the games tables and behind the food tables were enthusiastic, friendly and answered any questions we put to them. They made the evening special and when it came to the games, exciting!"

See you on the dance floor next year! 💕
