Free resources to those working with children in Eastern Ontario

This Fall, Iris the Dragon is offering interested agencies or schools in Eastern Ontario packages of 50 books addressing the impact of pandemic living on children’s mental health.

The book, ideal for ages 6 to 12, Project: Kids, Let’s be Superheroes addresses the mental health impact of COVID-19 on children. The book has been vetted by doctors at CHEO and Ontario’s Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health and is intended to be facilitated by an adult. Topics covered in the book include stress, anxiety, loss, and grief that children might be experiencing during a pandemic. Adult supporters are also offered conversation starters and resources at the end of each chapter to help support conversations with children during this time.

To engage its target readers, Iris continues to use its storybook approach in communicating messages about mental health and wellness to children. To learn more about Iris’ approach to supporting children’s mental health click here.
